Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented stress on healthcare workers worldwide. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to quantify the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of these essential personnel. We searched major databases for studies published between January 2020 and December 2022 that assessed symptoms of anxiety, depression, burnout, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among healthcare workers. A total of 58 studies met our inclusion criteria, involving over 100,000 participants from 25 countries.
