Article XX
PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT, CULTURALAND INDIGENOUS
PEOPLES' HERITAGE AND HUMAN HEALTH AND SAFETY
. The Parties shall implement this Agreement in a manner consistent with the
protection of the environment, cultural and indigenous peoples' heritage and human
health and safety.
2. Upon request from either Party, the Parties shall exchange appropriate information
on relevant laws and regulations and issues that could affect the environment, cultural and
indigenous peoples' heritage and human health and safety in the Receiving State.
3. When conducting cooperative activities, the Visiting Force and the Civilian
Component shall respect applicable laws and regulations of the Receiving State on the
protection of the environment, cultural and indigenous peoples' heritage and human
health and safety.
4. The Sending State shall, in cooperation with the Receiving State, promptly take
appropriate measures to address any damage or potential damage to the environment,
cultural and indigenous peoples' heritage and human health and safety, having regard to
the laws and regulations of the Receiving State and following consultation between the
Parties in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article XXV.
