Article X
DRIVING LICENSES AND VEHICLE REGISTRATION
1. Subject to any minimum age requirement for operating a vehicle in the Receiving
State, the Receiving State shall accept as valid, without a driving test or fee, the driving
permit or license or defense service driving permit issued by the competent authorities of
the Sending State to a member of the Visiting Force and the Civilian Component for the
purpose of driving Official Vehicles.
2. For the purpose of driving vehicles other than Official Vehicles, an appropriate
international driving permit, or a driving permit or license issued by the appropriate
authority of the Receiving State, shall be obtained if required by the laws and regulations
of the Receiving State.
3.Official Vehicles, excluding vehicles hired or leased in the Receiving State, shall
carry, in addition to the registration number issued by the Sending State, a distinctive
nationality mark, but shall not be required to be registered by the Receiving State.
4. Privately owned vehicles belonging to the members of the Visiting Force and the
Civilian Component shall be registered and carry the number plates issued by the
appropriate authorities of the Receiving State under the same conditions as those
applicable to the nationals of the Receiving State.
