6 Summary

(4) Basic requirements of the procurement:
This Computer System will be set in Atom-
ic Bomb Disease Institute and be used for
the purpose of storing and investigating the
medical information of atomic bomb sur-
vivors. Basic requirements of the procurem-
ent are as follows.
A The computer system must consist of
the database system, the administration
system, the personal computer system
and the network system which connects
with each system. The system must have
security function against illegal access
and information leakage etc.
B The database system must be able to
perform high speed database queries and
work with application servers and per-
sonal computer systems.
C The administration system must be ca-
pable of having multiple servers through
server virtualization, and the system
should control the authentication of per-
sonal computer system, manage access
privileges and network resources, and
have application server functions that
provide the existing the database mainte-
nance system, the medical examination
inquiry system, and the atomic bomb pho-
to reference system, or equivalent func-
tions.
D The personal computer system must
have database server and application
server client functions and be capable of
statistical analysis, database operation,
database docu-
ment, table and graph creation, and im-
age processing, and take a scheduled bac-

E To facilitate the operation and the
maintenance of all the computer system,
some schemes must be incorporated to
reduce the energy consumption, operat-
ing man power and occupying spaces
F The computer system must be able to
instantaneously cope with disturbance,
and the stable operation of the system
must be warranted.
